Our success on the football field is determined more by what we do off the field than what we do on the field. Once we take care of business in the classroom, community, at home and in athletics(in general) we will then see success on the football field. While success can come once in awhile on the football field prior to obtaining success in the other areas it will not sustain itself. If we are going to build sustained success we will become GREAT students, GREAT community/family members and GREAT athletes prior to worrying about gridiron GREATNESS.
GREATNESS IN THE CLASSROOM
Our ability to wear the Altoona football helmet comes solely because of the school. The number one job of each player is to learn the skills needed to be successful in life. If each member of the team is discipline enough to do this they will have enough discipline to be successful on the football field. Great football teams are made up of exceptional students. GREAT FOOTBALL TEAMS ARE MADE UP OF GREAT STUDENT ATHLETES.
GREATNESS AT HOME AND IN THE COMMUNITY
For us to be successful on the football field we are going to need the help and support of the members of our GREAT communities and families. We must keep this in mind as we move through our daily life. Through our positive actions we will ensure that the investment by the community and families is not a wasted investment. GREAT FOOTBALL TEAMS ARE MADE UP OF GREAT FAMILY/COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
GREATNESS IN OTHER SPORTS AND THE WEIGHT ROOM
The Railroader Football team will be composed of all-around athletes, who participate in other sports and offseason athletic training throughout the year. Participation in other sports and athletic training will help develop the skills needed to be successful on the football field. GREAT FOOTBALL TEAMS ARE MADE UP OF GREAT ATHLETES.
GREATNESS ON THE GRIDIRON
Greatness on the gridiron as a team or individually only comes after we commit to chasing greatness at home, in the community, in the classroom, in athletics and in the weight room. Great football players and teams must go the extra mile in practice and in games in order to claim a spot at the top. The willingness to go the extra mile on the football field will only happen after our team and players commit to going the extra mile in everything that we do.
